Tatiana Maslany is a difficult actor to pin down. From Perry Mason on HBO through to Marvel’s She-Hulk, she has always picked interesting roles, even if the end result missed its mark. Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed looks like another solid entry in her resume of resourceful women pushed to their limits as Paula. Created by David Rosen, best known for Sugar also on Apple and Hunters for Prime, this by the number missing person mystery puts Maslany front and centre in an opening teaser that gives audiences just enough.

Story beats laid down in sequence offer up hints at a relationship, an escalating series of insurmountable odds for Paula to overcome bring peril without the cliche, and a sense of mystery packed into just over a minute of screen time does the rest. Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed looks like another Apple series with high production values and some serious acting talent thrown in.
With sitcom veteran Jack Johnson on hand to offer solid support, this kidnapping caper not only threatens to throw some curveballs in the mix, but sets up some solid character-driven drama as well. A combination that promises good things when Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed hits the streaming platform in May.
