Jason Statham is staging a Mutiny in his latest collaboration with the director behind Gerard Butler’s action-fest Plane. In a concise and cutthroat trailer that pulls no punches, audiences are introduced to Cole Reed. A rogue cop with vengeance on his mind in two minutes of footage that features human trafficking, hand-to-hand combat, and Statham flexing his five o’clock shadow like everything hinged on it.

With English veteran Adrian Lester on hand to add gravitas, Mutiny promises to deliver another high octane outing from the best British action hero export cinemas have ever seen. With all the steely-eyed determination Jason Statham has offered up since his barnstorming debut in Guy Ritchie’s Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, Mutiny screams bang for your buck by the bucket load.
Director Jean-Francois Richet knows his way around an action premise, having done solid work bringing Plane to life and reminding audiences just how good Mike Coulter can be, and Mutiny looks to match that intensity with ease. Brandishing the occasional f-bomb, Statham’s Cole Reed dispatches bad guys and reeks vengeance on anyone within ten feet employing fish hooks with brutal efficiency. Suggesting that this Lionsgate release is unlikely to disappoint Jason Statham fans, and might just convert some audiences over to the dark side as well.
