Australia in 1850 marks the return of Jack Dawkins (Thomas Brodie-Sangster), who has now turned his light-fingered thievery into another profession, making a name in high society circles as a surgeon. However, histories have a way of coming back to haunt those seeking to hide, and so it is that the Artful Dodger soon finds himself beleaguered by an old acquaintance known only as Fagin (David Thewlis).
